Are you a history buff, interested in antique items, passionate about US military, a student wanting some museum experience, or someone just looking to volunteer some hours to a great cause?

If the answer is yes, come join us! We have two locations, The Louisiana Military Maneuvers Museum at Training Center Pineville and The Louisiana National Guard Museum located on Historic Jackson Barracks, New Orleans. The New Orleans location has been rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina and is looking better than ever, but we still need your help in re-establishing our exhibits. The Pineville location is a well-oiled machine, but is always in search of volunteers.

We are looking for dedicated, reliable and enthusiastic volunteers who share a passion for preserving and sharing history. We ask for a minimum of three hours per week but schedules are flexible and will be coordinated with the Director, Bev Boyko.

We are looking for volunteers to help on one or more of the teams:

Collections Team: Sort archives, catalogs books and artifacts

Docent Team: Trained tour guides (8-12 hours of training will be provided prior to becoming a docent)

Curation Team: Prepare the collection for exhibit (restoration and exhibit set up involved)

122nd Bomb Squadron Restoration Group: While they are their own organization, this group of tenacious volunteers has been instrumental in the restoration of artifacts before, during and after Hurricane Katrina at our Jackson Barracks location. Learn more

Gallery Team: Staff information desk, answer phones, book tours
