Jerry Sanson is Professor Emeritus of History and Political Science and retired Department Chair at Louisiana State University at Alexandria. He received his BA in Social Studies Education summa cum laude from Louisiana College and his MA and PhD in American History from Louisiana State University. His research specialties include Louisiana during World War II, Huey Long, and the New Deal. He authored, co-authored, or edited six books, including Louisiana during World War II and Camp Beauregard and Central Louisiana, 1939-1945, and authored twenty-five articles on Louisiana History. He presented papers at state, regional, national, and international scholarly conferences. He is a member of the Gulf South Historical Association, the North Louisiana Historical Association, former president of the Louisiana Historical Association, and member of the LHA Company of Fellows. He is a Museum Administrative Tech at the Louisiana Maneuvers and Military Museum at Training Center Pineville.
